In the year 2020, Royal Enfield announced an open challenge for Indian graphic artists for their apparel. The selected designs would be used by the team to print on their apparel, which would eventually bring a lot of limelight and appreciation to the designer curating it.
Odd Monk grabbed this impressive opportunity and decided to participate and put their best foot ahead. As a part of participation, Odd Monk created 3 illustrations out of which 1 was successfully chosen as the winner and soon was seen on their apparel.
Winning a Royal Enfield open challenge is no small feat. Thousands of artists across India submit their work, and only a handful make the cut. The brief demanded something that captured the spirit of motorcycling — freedom, the open road, the bond between rider and machine — without falling into cliché. Each of the three illustrations explored a different facet of that spirit, and the one that resonated most with the judges carried a raw energy that felt unmistakably Indian yet universally powerful.
